Meet Dr. Abelardo Daya
Originally from Puerto la Cruz, Venezuela, Dr. Abelardo Daya is a board-certified orthodontist who brings both passion and precision to every smile he transforms. After earning his first dental degree from UGMA in Venezuela, his journey led him to Nova Southeastern University in South Florida, where he completed both his U.S. dental degree and his specialty training in Orthodontics and Dentofacial Orthopedics—graduating in the top 10% of his class and earning a Master of Science degree.Dr. Daya brought his skills and love for orthodontics to the Weston, and Broward County area, where he currently practices and proudly owns South Florida Institute of Orthodontics (SFIO).He is proudly certified by the American Board of Orthodontics, a distinction held by fewer than 50% of orthodontists nationwide. He stays at the forefront of his field through ongoing education and is an active member of several professional associations. He currently serves as Secretary of the Atlantic Coast District Dental Association.Outside the office, Dr. Daya is a proud family man, triathlete, and marathon runner—often spotted training around Weston or cheering on his favorite sports teams. He’s passionate about community service, speaks English, Spanish, and Arabic, and believes in making every patient feel confident, cared for, and right at home.
